I loathe plastic speakers for their sound quality but at least you can upgrade them later.
Looks like a reasonable system - i'd go for it; especially if it has HDMI upconversion (converts non HDMI sources to run through the HDMI out port on the receiver) One cable is so much easier.

i dont know much about these amps but my google search so far on this model is that it does not upconvert non hdmi. as per reviews thats only the cons.
A lot of the bottom of the range Onkyo's do not support analogue to hdmi upconversion.
It's one of their upgrade options as such, ie a reason you'd go for the next model up.
Depending on your gear it's not too much of a problem, or it's a major. In my case I've dumped anything that didn't have hdmi so it's no biggy now for me.

true, only non hdmi i've is my existing dvd player but since my new blu ray player replacing it i should be fine too.
