kiwijunglist: hvr2200 works fine, except for FM radio in latest iterations of mediaportal.

Have you tried my patch?

http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/submit-code-patches-mediaportal-tv-server-etc-325/fm-radio-signal-detection-86875/

I can make a dll for you if you want to try it. No promises...

Reven,

Can't speak for the Hauppauge card, but DigitalNow in Aus has some awesome products. Their support is really good too.

1. Quad - 4 tuners on one low profile PCIe card. Should have support under Linux. This is not quite out (maybe a couple of weeks away) but worth the wait if you like lots of tuners on one card like me. Then you'd have no need to worry about conflicts of recordings on One/2, 3/C4 and Prime.
2. Dual Digital (7164) - very similar to the Hauppauge card mentioned earlier but in my opinion is slightly better because it has hardware encoding for the analog tuners.

Encourage you to check these out. If you were looking to go USB then you might try the TinyTwin.

The HVR2200 also has hardware encoding of the analog turner/s. Not sure if that was the card you were refering to?

Not sure if this matters, or is still correct, but a few months ago the HVR2200 only worked for digital under linux. The analog tuners were not supported.

the hdhomerun looks like a good option (i had a demo unit a while back but house didnt have UHF aerial, so couldnt do much with it :)).

i just bought a eyetv dtt deluxe for my mac mini, and will give eye tv a go on a mac. the device was so small i just had to give it a go, will be able to test it in new house this weekend, currently with no uhf i cant pick up anything. with the hd homerun i could get some stuff, but it was all green and not watchable (but there was a picture and sound).

i like the hdhomerun as i can just network the device and use eyetv on different machines for live tv, and still have a backend (myth perhaps) to do the recordings.
