Rollux:kerryland: Well done on the Wharfedales. I have very fond memories. I have since subsequently "upgraded", but honestly I don't think I've gained anything. They're great speakers. Except for the subwoofers.
Don't buy them :-)
Cheers
Kerry
What's supposedly "wrong" with their subs? Came with one, and not having had a stand-alone sub before it seems quite impressive for a small 10" job.
Got everything wired up tonight with the cable from Regs (cheers!) and the banana plugs that came from China via Ebay. Had it running all day on the radio at about 50% volume - they sound different already.
Will get some more plugs and "bi-amp" the fronts and let you all know what I think when they've been run in.
Bi Amping the fronts does make a difference I think, I've done it on mine
In reference to the subwoofers, The only trouble I had with mine was when it was incorrectly placed behind the couch. After putting it in the correct position it's been great after correctly adjusting all the levels. Much better than the old mission and velodyne I used to have. And well extremely better than the Sony/Digitor/Philips and a few other HTIAB systems I had when I was starting out
