OK So i'm not sure what I did, but I am now generating the xml, but BSEpg isn't able to process it into MC. I've tried to tick the option for BSE compatible generation but it doesn't seem to do anything. Looks like it's a BSE problem, not epgCollector.

Cheers for the help regardless though.

Ticking the BSEPG option just changes the format of the episode tags

Look at the dos screen when running BSE and it should show what it's problem is. If you are still stuck post the Dos contents here.
