3D content is still scarce, I returned my 3D plasma for a 2D LCD and don't miss it - I don't think I ever used 3D honestly.

Yes, L V Martin were great. First the replaced the plasma because it buzzed, then they accepted that the plasma does buzz and let me swap it for an LCD.

BTW,Have u tried 3D on it? Hows it?Did you get 3d glasses with it or have you purchased any?

I haven't tried 3D yet because I have no content for it (no Blu-ray) and no glasses came with it (paid $1700 for it).

One thing I found a bit annoying is that the TV chokes a little bit on MKV streams through the network, even on Gigabit.

Other than that, I've finally calibrated it properly and am loving every detail on the screen. Brilliant set.

Best thing to get is some 3D MKVs for testing I think

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Using AVS-709 HD and the TV's built-in blue-only mode (Picture > Advanced Settings > RGB only).

Possibly. I'm also doing transcoding on the fly from my NAS, but I don't see any CPU spikes on the NAS while doing it.

Yeah i transcode through my NAS too, but don't usually see any issues, however initially the files do take a while to load, but once loaded I can fast forward and rewind pretty fast

Okay, first up - don't worry about 'internet TV' functionality. It is a marketing gimick at this stage - wait for version 2 or 3, then it should be quite usable. Hopefully...
Right now the features are next to useless for almost everything you'll want to do. Heck, have you tried surfing the web on a TV? It's one of the most painful computer experiences you will ever have to endure. DLNA is 'okay', but ultimately, plugging in a HDD or streaming via a dedicated media box will give you far better results. Enjoy your TV, as... well... a TV. It's all about the picture, not about the horrendously slow loading web browser / limited apps and useless interface ;-)

U r quite right mate! These r all at nascenet stages and need to mature a lot, full HD n a bigger screen is all that's worth the buck....
