I've had a problem (i.e. virtually non-existent) with reception of SBS 1 & 2 since late November. It's not a LNB problem as a test signal on TP 12637/5100 is also vertical on the NAND beam and that shows up with a fluctuating quality of between 70 and 90.
My assumption was that the feed from SBS in Tassie has been turned off but the picture is sometimes there - very pixellated video and no audio. I have noticed that if there was bad weather over Tasmania in the past, the signal would be very poor but the problem seems to persist even if Tasmania and here (Northland) have clear skies.

Given that others as quoted in this thread are still recieving this channel OK (including myself) there must be a problem somwhere in your system, perhaps your dish is out of alignment or other such.
Oh and SBS is on the NANZ beam not the NAND beam (according to Lyngsat).
I'm not sure it's as simple as that - as I stated when I posted my message, I currently get the three ch9 channels just fine. The DVBS-2 card that is used for those can't pick up SBS either (i.e., it's not because my other DVBS card upon which I previously which SBS channels has blown). All other DVBS and DVBS channels I previously picked up off Optus D1 are working with high signal strength reported in mediaportal. I purchased a satelite finder and it reads the highest signal strength. I pick up a range of V and H polarity channels, no problems. I can switch between V and H channels no problem, as before.
That it was a very sudden loss which affected a great many people in NZ suggests that they definitely changes something at the SBS/AUS end, so perhaps even the slightest change to signal quality or strength put map and I (and others, it's not just us - see other threads) below some threshold?
Can an old/dodgy LNB affect the quality of the signal without affecting its strength?
its only been recently that the SBS signal has been very eratic So long as the signal can be received in NZ I will be happy Will see if there is any changes over the next week otherwise will put in a new dish
I'd put it down as people say, to dying LNBs, or incorrectly rotated ones (the H/V are not quite spot on) now requiring fine tuning again.
I too am receiving it with no issues, Sky Dual-Head on standard Sky dish. With a strong STB. And thats after 3x 6+ earthquakes and a house that has sunk 3" at one end.
The initial report of a drop in signal strenth was on 24-11, and reviewed again on 29-11 and found to be back up somewhat.

This afternoon on Kapiti Coast , clear sky conditions SBS level is 11.5 db CNR on 64 cm dish with Sharp Quad LNBF
Are you absolutely certain it is not channel 9 that you are thinking of? 9,go and gem have been available on Optus d1 for a while but have not heard of 7 being available. If it is 7 and you can find out the transponder details I would be very great full for them too.
