Have you found a good deal on the DS412+?

I'm after one too but they are so costly in NZ

in the end with my setup, I went over the top.  First built an home server using WHS 2011 and it has been excellent and not missed a beat.  Also on my Windows 8 HTPC I have extra hard drives and once a week sync all files and then to top it off I bought a ReadyNas 104.  The readynas 104 was a dog to start with but not bad now after a couple of firmware updates.   I figure no way are all 3 going to pack up at once and after spending hours and hours of converting MY DVD collection to digital I didnt want to have to redo it all.  All my documents are on all 3 as well.  The important files are also on another laptop.
My favourite is definitly the WHS2011 unit.

HTPC Intel Pentium G3258 cpu, Gigabyte H97n-wifi motherboard, , 8GB DDR3 ram, onboard  graphics. Hauppuage HVR 5500 tuner,  Silverstone LC16M case, Windows 10 pro 64 bit using Nextpvr and Kodi

Had the Synology DS412+ the last couple of days, wonderful experience. Everything so easy to set up, in particular their mobile apps make life very easy indeed.

Great choice! And it will only get better with the DSM4.3 update.
