The number after the name is only there if there is more than 1 version of the channel. It's the service ID.
Just check in the EPGC log that there it created data for Al Jaz and C4 after that date. Note that there are multiple versions of both of those channels. The info is near the end of a collection where it lists all the channels, start and end dates, record counts etc. I'm sure it will have loaded data for those channels after that date.
As far as I can see there are 2 possibilities. Either WMC is overwriting the entries loaded by EPGC (but then it must be EIT data and there is something like 12 hours of that for each channel) or the channel you see in the guide is not the entry that EPGC is loading the data against.
If the data disappears again, immediately go into edit channel for a channel with no data and check that the mapping is still correct and refers to the EPG Collector name.
