maccasparks: Just set up a Harmony 650 - Awesome wee unit. Easy to install and use. Even works on my good old 1995 Yamaha RXV 590 in the shed!
Have a 650 too. Does almost all I need it to but it runs through batteries like no tomorrow. Recently invested in some Eneloop rechargeables and these seem to last a lot longer.
Recently upgraded to the Harmony Ultimate. So easy, it even transferred all the settings from my 785 harmony account across, too easy. Spent a few days tweaking things. But brilliant, not having to point it to the tv or anything. Using the app on my tablet, can now control sky from the bedroom, how good is that. The only downside is the cost. Got mine fm PB Tech.
I was looking for a base level one for my parents. 350 or 650 really. Saw a 650 on sale recently so might pick that up. 350 possibly enough (3 devices only) but like the idea of some flexible options on the 650. Some reviews had questioned the quality and battery life, so that's something to consider I guess also.
Still think there is a market for a very simple remote, but simple in less buttons even again and bigger buttons for the elderly.
I've been 'with' harmony for years now myself and find the focus on activities rather than connection inputs etc much nicer. Honestly think everyone should try one at least.
