Great thread, looking in to a new tv now 50 or 55. Been with Samsung for years now. 

 

Will keep doing research, but budget is only 2k at the mo, so might be waiting to the Easter sales.

The USA's TV broadcasts are 60 frames per second while ours are 50fps. So multiples of those are 100Hz, 120Hz etc. 50fps can't be cleanly frame doubled into 120fps. 

 

 

 

PAL and NTSC used the same Hz rate as the Hz of their countries of origins' electricity supplies. 

 

 

 

 

So it means if I use any NZ Samsung QLED TV as a monitor, I can only run it up to 100hz because the panel is 100hz native (TruMotion 200) instead of 120hz native (TruMotion 240) on the NA counterparts?
