hey why dont you try XBMC for your media PC its cross platform and support alot of codecs (inc .h264 and .mkv)

it has a built media search which you can use to scan all of your movies for box art

Thanks for the suggestion ninjabrood, and welcome to Geekzone.

Personally, I am not a fan of anything that stands out from Windows Media Center, simply because I want it all to blend in together, look as little like a customised multi program PC, and more like a consumer grade product.

So I prefer any plug-in I install to have the same colour scheme and layout as Windows Media Center.

This matter not anymore, as Windows 7 has made some great strides to resolving this issue (having a movie section that displays cover art and sypnosis, and can be sorted by genre etc)

The 'Movies' section in 7 MC allows for this, but still needs much work, as currently only displays cover art and sorts properly, movies still in a DVD struture/format...not AVI's etc

Also the Movies section is having to reload the movies everytime, which takes time if you have a massive movie libary like me...it is not catching them.

But it is only in Beta stage, so stay tuned.
