Deev8:
It's also a great idea to take a disc image of a successful working set-up. Then if future changes mess things up you can restore from that image.

what do you use for a disk image? I tried out Acronis TrueImage and it worked "ok" but failed slightly in the intuitive stakes... At least for my intuition.

Acronis TrueImage is widely regarded as one of the best. Paragon Drive Backup has it's supporters too. DriveImage XML is free for non-commercial use, but I did find that very difficult to use.

I'm still in the dark ages. I use Norton Ghost V2003.

On another note, my HTPC graphics card failed over the weekend. Swapped the main & client machines' cards over & thought it was just a dislodged issue. But it won't start on the client machine, nowYell. Luckily, it has 6150 on-board to get me out of the pinch. Pricespy, here I come.

Sorry to hear about the card, but shopping for a new one will no doubt banish any grief.

Dead hardware is a great excuse for a new component, its a shame my 720p TV is so healthy...

Glad to hear you have got it going.. Well done!

My suggestion is that once you have it running well... leave it alone! :-)

I get a lot of hassles from my family for 'just making one small change' and breaking it again!

Cheers

Well I killed it, I should have read your comment earlier.

At least I know what to do to fix it up (I think).

Welcome to the club!

It probably won't be the last time you break it either :-)
