Yes, but what codec are you using with Media Portal? The problems are related to HA on the cards, enabling software decoding with Windows 7 Media Center 'solves' it, but no-one wants to use 60% CPU when the card should be able to do it in hardware.

A long time ago I chose the Powercinema 6 codec because it provided the best visuals with working hardware acceleration. Because I use this codec for PVR in mediaportal, and Powercinema for DVD playback, I paid cyberlink for a powercinema 6 upgrade from the 5.1 version that came with the HVR2200.

The codec calls itself PCM H.264 or somesuch.

HTPC: Antec Fusion 430, Intel i3, Gigabyte 1050, Corsair 4x1Gb, Hauppauge WinTv, Logitech z-5500, Logitech Harmony 525, Yamaha Rx-v6a, Samsung KS8000 4k, Windows 10, Mediaportal 1.30, BLU-RAY: Panasonic UB820

Well my experience (setting up brother's HTPC) was HD3200 + HT3 CPU + Win7 MCE + MS H264 Codec + Freeview DVB-T (All channels, not just interlaced) = Stuttering pictures, exacerbated whenever the OSD came up, and CPU useage ~10% with regular spiking to 60%, suggesting that hardware acceleration may not of been working properly. This was worse on TV3 1080i, but occured on the progressive channels too.

I then changed h264 codec to PDVD8 H264 Codec and changed audio to FFDSHOW. After this change CPU useage no longer spiked and stayed under 10%, the picture was smooth, and stayed smooth whenever the OSD came up.

I assume that the problem was the MS codec and not the audio one. So in this situtation sounds like Win7 MCE + MS H264 Codec + ATI gfx + Freeview not happy playing together.
