tyronnezx: hey guys so i managed to get the V20 for 1100 dollars (With a WIFI Antenna).now that's a bargain.


Where can one get in on this deal please?

Jammy b*****r. Well done!

Just lugged the same one home from Dunedin (1395 JB Hifi) -- but you;re dead right -- it's superb. And haven't even taken the new Sony 570 out of the box yet.

Add my thanks to good advice on here .. especially from that dunnersfella.

@ grolschie - harvey normans - Tory St wellington - That is if they still have those in stock. when i got mine there were nine left. and at that price they really arent going to last. i have no idea why people settle for LG's and samsungs when you ca get this deal

tyronnezx, it is a common misconception that calibration settings are transferable from one same model tv to another. Reality is, is I could calibrate your tv and have two different settings for the same end result. It is always a question of balancing all the settings to give the required result.
2nd reality is that using another setup on your tv just makes the tv look different, it may or maynot be accurate, usually the latter.

Calibration is actually about getting the best from your expensive TV or video setup, it just so happens setting them accurately to the broadcast standards does this. You don't have to agree or disagree and you may indeed prefer oversaturated dynamic video or default settings. It is a real personal choice thing.

I do like calibrated images, I thought the results made things so much better I thought everyone should have it, so I setup a small business to bring it to kiwis at an affordable value.(yeah I know, affordable is a matter of perspective).

Calibrated imagery, funny thing about image accuracy is that we as humans look for fault as the reference for something to see. When the image is accurate, perfect, it matches how your brain remembers it and you see , well nothing, nothing unusual. But nothing visually is perfect yet to match the human eye and brain, so we see fault somewhere, however calibration aligns the systems so that alot of basic balances are the same thus the results you see match the source, or in many cases as the director intended.

As a side note, some tv's(more of the older models) struggle to look good calibrated as their design at the time was about legacy and marketing or just plain limited by the technology at the time.

timmmay did you follow all the sequences in my website links in the previous post, page ben01 is the opening page where the comparison is the same. Follow the sequences forward and you should see the obvious image faults.

Oh P.S: The Panasonic V series and professional modes 1 and 2, well I can convert them to isfDay and isfNight where I set them to levels appropriate to typical conditons for day and night and store those settings into the modes.
