Nice setup. Love the cabinet.

I'm with you on that, I used to have my media on my computer and would watch on screen. So much better being able to show people a giant list of movies without clumsily looking through a shelf of dvds.

very nice setup you put together... I really like it compact but powerfull.  "solid state drive for OS wow Im considering doing that for my gaming rig but does it really show a boost on performance?

good job,

I use an SSD for OS and timeshift and yeah it makes a difference. Channel changing is really quick and hopping through menus is fast. Also startup time from hibernate is improved.

Shady Home Theatre

The lounge is awaiting renovations at the moment but this is what I've got at the moment.

TV: PS59D6900
RECEIVER: PIONEER- VSX-819H-K
SPEAKERS: Warfdale 5.1 Diamond Series
HTPC: Acer Revo 3700 - XBMC
SKY: Standard Satellite
GAMING: PS3

The current receiver doesn't do 3D pass through for the PS3 and has started turning itself off during intense audio in movies, could be a heat issue as there is sweet all clearance where it is sitting. I think this is excuse enough for a new receiver and move this one downstairs to the dining room.

this is a slap in the face!

I recognised those Warfdales right away, lol. Is that an old Skybox? I wonder when they'll phase those out...

Picked up the speakers for a nice price around this time last year. They go good for what they are. The 10 series was a bit out of reach at the time.

Yeah that is an old sky box - may as well call it the sky sport box - only thing we have it for, served the RWC 2011 superbly.

Yeah, parents have the Warfdales. Can't say I left them to quietly play movies. Definitely tried to max them out. Great bass and good range (tested with music and Transformers movie) shook a pot off the stove on the other side of the wall.

'shook a pot off the stove on the other side of the wall' ahahaha lol

I like surround and bass sound while watching movies and if I turn it up my wooden floor vibrates...

Hi Andy

Argh cant believe i missed that Im just running a  Ati Radeon 43XX (cant remember the exact model) it cost me $80 at the beginning of last year. I dont have any problems with it. Handles 1080p no problem.

Eeeeew - the centre speaker isn't over the centre of the screen. I assume this will be corrected by the renovations? :)

mine was originally built in 2006, and it is still the same install that i did back in 2008 (shown below).... but i've recently added an xbox kinect to the mix.

one of these days i'll update the screen to a new full hd beast... and maybe the amp to an hdmi switching amp. pretty happy otherwise

onkyo tx-sr702 home theater receiver, KEF KHT2005.2 'egg' speakers + sub, 7MCE in a Zalman HD160 box, xbox slim 250GB with kinect
