I'm with you on that, I used to have my media on my computer and would watch on screen. So much better being able to show people a giant list of movies without clumsily looking through a shelf of dvds.
very nice setup you put together... I really like it compact but powerfull. "solid state drive for OS wow Im considering doing that for my gaming rig but does it really show a boost on performance?
I use an SSD for OS and timeshift and yeah it makes a difference. Channel changing is really quick and hopping through menus is fast. Also startup time from hibernate is improved.
The current receiver doesn't do 3D pass through for the PS3 and has started turning itself off during intense audio in movies, could be a heat issue as there is sweet all clearance where it is sitting. I think this is excuse enough for a new receiver and move this one downstairs to the dining room.
Yeah, parents have the Warfdales. Can't say I left them to quietly play movies. Definitely tried to max them out. Great bass and good range (tested with music and Transformers movie) shook a pot off the stove on the other side of the wall.
Yea they are pretty large :) sub is about three times the size you can apart of it at the right of the picture.
Argh cant believe i missed that Im just running a Ati Radeon 43XX (cant remember the exact model) it cost me $80 at the beginning of last year. I dont have any problems with it. Handles 1080p no problem.
home cinema wow nice setup you got there. are those speakers gonna be in the wall otherwise they can always be moved around. What sound system you got? and videocard and tuner?
mine was originally built in 2006, and it is still the same install that i did back in 2008 (shown below).... but i've recently added an xbox kinect to the mix.
one of these days i'll update the screen to a new full hd beast... and maybe the amp to an hdmi switching amp. pretty happy otherwise
onkyo tx-sr702 home theater receiver, KEF KHT2005.2 'egg' speakers + sub, 7MCE in a Zalman HD160 box, xbox slim 250GB with kinect
