Back in the country and I've had a few days playing with the kit. What can I say?
Let's start with, all the kit I have tested works (I haven't tested the FX-RT or the 255-C-RT as I am yet to get a AV Receiver). All the SONOS and the other speakers work without any dramas.
The RC80i's and 265-RT's sound tinny as they are not yet built in to a wall.
My temporary set up has the SONOS:Bridge behind the iMac, a set of the outdoor Atrium 6's connected to a SONOS:AMP with the Polk DSWPro550WI Sub in the Living Room, another SONOS:AMP with another set of Atrium 6's in the gym, a SONOS:Connect connected to a BOSE Sound Dock in the Kitchen and the SONOS dock in the Kitchen as well.
The SONOS kit is so incredibly simple to setup. It syncs well and works perfectly as advertised.
The Android controller works well on the Samsung SG3 and the Apple controller is a beast on the new iPad. The current must library is sitting on the iMac (iTunes library) and SONOS connected to it very easily.
VERY HAPPY with the decision to go SONOS. Looking forward to having it all set up properly in the new house.
The Polk Audio DSWPro550WI is a monster sub. It rattles the rental apart when cranked up.
Yes. NZ power cables included. The sub power cord is just a simple kettle cord and the SONOS:AMP and SONOS:Connect use those figure 8 looking power cords. The SONOS:Dock and the SONOS:Bridge have the same cable. It is a 5V cable that has a small transformer at the socket and a small connector at the kit end.
All units have a paper C-Tick sticker (with code) attached to the underside. The code is Z1457 and is most likely the reference code given specifically to USATODAY.co.nz by whatever governing body runs it in NZ.
