lchiu7: What sort of H.264 files are they? Stuff available on the Internet or DVB-T samples from the local test broadcasts? That would be useful to know since I am also waiting for my Popcorn Hour

It's played every thing I have thrown at it except for the NZ DTT samples. The sports one plays video but no audio and the rest don't play at all.  PCH  is looking at the issue,  May just need some codec tweeking..  I mostly use it for x264 TV and .mov trailers in HD though I have noticed with some of the 2.35:1 mov trailers they don't format on the screen correctly. Just slightly squashed down. The x264 format fine..

old3eyes:

When you get "The Invatation" there is a link to the google checkout.  This doesn't appear in the Google NZ web page so you will have to access google.com >more>even more>checkout.  If you don't have a google account you will have to set up one with a credit card so that you can pay for this thing.  The rest is pretty explanitory.  You can check the progress once the order has been placed and trace the DHL progress when shipped from there..

Thanks old3eyes - much appreciated, I swear I have 10 thumbs sometimes with the typoes I generate!

Now I just have to sit and wait the few months until they (PCH) make it to my registration number.

Got mine about a week ago but just now had time to play with it. As noted before it plays most content but won't play the DVB-T test broadcasts that have been uploaded apart from Rugby Seven's with no audio. Also won't play the BBC Beyonce test broadcast that sub referred to a while.  Cost me $280 landed but it might be a brick as far as I am concerned if that doesn't get fixed.

The other choice I am working with is seeing if I can get the PS3 to play them. If so, then I might be putting this PCH up on Trademe

No problem

Having a bit of success with the files. Using the Beyonce file have managed to demux the file into elementary aac and avc streams. Then converted the aac to ac3 and muxed them back into m2ts files. This plays on the PS3 but is out of sync. I am sure I will get there but I wish there were a plug and play solution that didn't involved major re-engineering of a PC (new video card, new software etc.)

I just got my PCH invite! Ordered it, planning to put it in the bedroom, once I built my Shuttle HTPC for the main tv room.

How does the PCH go with watching internet TV and listening to internet radio? Many are Windows Media or Real Media. I am looking for a product that will primarily do this to save using TV-out on my PC. Thanks in advance.

Just an update for academic rather than pragmatic reasons. Have got the PCH to play the Beyonce and Robin Hood HD test broadcasts out there just by running the files through tsremux and outputing them as m2ts files. Doesn't take long to do but of course it doesn't solve the problem for our upcoming DVB-T broadcasts which apparently will need firmware support for the HE-AAC LATM audio codec (support is not native in the Sigma chipset that the PCH uses)
