indapie2000: Would something like this work with the Shield TV Tube? Would like to try avoid a bulky plug adaptor for a US to NZ plug.

https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/computers-tablets/accessories/alogic/alogic-2-pin-mains-plug-to-iec-c7-m-f-power-cable-2m/368796/

It will not work for the Shield.

Add this into your cart if you buy the Shield from Amazon. $6.99 for 6 pack.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F5R9T6O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Why would it not? according to the unboxing videos I see on Youtube, the cylinder shield comes with just a typical 2-pin cable.

Yes, that should work. It's a common lead so you may already have a spare one lying around. Also, $9 is a bit pricey.

It looks like it should work for the regular Shield TV, but definitely not the Pro

Yep, there doesn't appear to be an elegant solution for the Pro.

My mistake. I am using the pro model which it doesn't fit. It may work for the standard one, I'm not sure of it.

I was thinking about the Shield TV (Tube version, not the pro as don't really need it for games)

If the cable is a standard one that can be bought anywhere then I'd much prefer this.
But otherwise the slim power plug that another person posted would work too.

Amazon Australia have a listing now for the 2019 TV Shield, but it's through sellers on Amazon rather than Amazon direct, and its AUD $342 😬🤑

One thing worth pointing out for the Shield Tube vs Pro, is that apparently the tube only runs 32 bit apps, whereas the Pro can run 64 bit.

While this won't matter in 90% of cases for purely streaming, there may be some other apps like emulators that can't be run.

The price on Amazon dropped slightly by 13% to $129 USD so I decided to get mine last week (figured with the added GST it would make up that 13% drop).
Oreded it on 27/01 with a couple of HDMI cables and it arrived yesterday!

Coming from a Sony TV with Android built-in (one of the first ones they did) I'm soo impressed with the speed and responsiveness of the Shield TV. I'm VERY happy I bought this, it'll make watching Plex, Netflix etc a joy again and not a struggle as it lags to load.
