cshaun: Yeah probably would be a good idea 'walling' it up. I closed off the side vent with some plastic sheeting from a takeaways container... Though didn't realize at the time the vent by the PSU was longer than the PSU and is now sucking in air.

Those two case fans are surprisingly loud... Corsair PSU far quieter.

I used an ice cream container for the one by CPU. The case fan attached to the speed controlled MoBo header is quiet enough. I've been thinking about closing up the one by the PSU, but haven't done so yet.

Did you do any testing to verify that closing the one by the CPU is a good idea?

Not sure if I can get away with one 90mm fan blowing over the cpu cooler (same direction as the two case fans. And do away with the case fans. That fan the the PSU's fan would be the only two in the entire case... Think it may be ok.

Will do some burn in and heat testing over the next week when I've got time.

Somebody else with the L16 had closed theirs up.

I have done no testing, per se, however, I assume that if the systemp was up, then the MoBo controller would speed up the other case fan (at which point I'd notice the noise). So it's not obviously discernably hotter.

Would have liked to have done a quick test... but it's just far to much hassle to unblock it. CPU cooler in the way. Hoped it was better to block it and just went with it.

cshaun great news that it all fits. Wish I had known what you know now when I got the ninga mini. Have you tried running your CPU cooler fanless? If I can run the mini fanless then I would have thought for sure you could.

Good news on the GPU front as well. The only downside with it being in the next slot is that it will not have quite the same volume of air passing by it. Have you checked what temp it gets up to? Also do you have any cards between it and the rear fans?

I blocked the vent by the CPU up as I wanted to maximise the airflow coming from the front as the HDD's and the chipset heatsink all live up that end. I have not blocked up the vent on other side as I am not too bothered if air comes in from there. I only have one HDD and that is on the other side so that it gets good airflow. I also tuck the extra power cables in the unused HDD bay for tidyness sake.

Running fanless now. Only fans in the case are Corsair PSU's and the 2 case fans.

Haven't done testing on temps etc yet. Only just got Windows etc installed on Sat. However after running for a couple hours, and opening the case and touching the cpu & video heatsink they're cold to the touch.

Yes was a slight struggle deciding where to put the video card - tradeoffs. But the cooler is ment for video cards with a few orders of magnitude hotter than a 9500GT.

Next thing for me is determining what to do fan wise. Litte testing and checking and I'll sort that out. This thing is going to be the quietest computer I've ever soon in person :-)
Could only get quieter if you had ZERO fans and HD's. WD's little noiser than I expected - can still hear them a couple meters away. But better than normal drives.

You cannot see it in the shot but there is a 2200 hiding under the bar.

It would be interesting to know which cooler is the most effective. Mine is a lot deeper (from air flow point of view) where as yours is higher.

How many slots are useable with that config? Also comparing our two setups it looks to me like you should be able to fit the video card in the first slot and still clear the bar at the top. It does not look like it goes past the slot that it is in on the gpu side and the bar is above the next slot over?

S963 definitely better according to benchmarks - with a fan anyway. And I'd assume fanless too.

Performs close to the Scythe Infinity.

Video card can't fit under the bar. Only 1-2mm clearance above CPU/Video heatsinks and the case's lid. Photo little deceptive.

Video card cooler blocking 1.5 (i.e. 2) pci-e 1x slots.

I have the 'primary' 16x slot free.

Moving the video card to the primary slot and leaving off the bar (if it fits - looks likley but didn't try; it might not clear the mobo heatsink) will free up an additional slot.

Video card living the life of luxury - didn't have anything on the ram modules before.

I'm just stoked it all fits!!!

Probably not compatible with IE8, but I have installed an add-on for Firefox called Lazarus (from interclue.com ), and it has some good form-saving powers (and much better than the old form-saving that Netscape 3 & 4 had).
