Thanks for the help chaps! Laughing

I will see if there is a firmware upgrade available for it as it has been a good box and is very configurable and best of all is as generic receiver and is not locked to any particular providor.

I have also just inherited a C Band dish, motor drive and an STB so if I can talk my Good Lady Wife into letting me have space in the yard (they are a bit of an eyesoreTongue Out) I'll have a crack at Intelsat5 for BBC etc.

Cheers and Merry Christmas,

Zap

Only a couple of Aurora channels are unencrypted:

Not sure about what else comes off that Sat though. It is also DoD Australia .. "nothing to see there .. move along" Cool

i have a DBV-S2 freeview box and it can receive "GO!", "GEM" and "NINE NETWORK"

IF i do a 'blind scan', am i right in thinking it would also pick up Channel 7 too????????

You will get the odd 'feed' from channel 7 every now and then.

I guess this means that the channel comes occasionally and goes again, rather than being available 24/7.

basically yeah ... I have seen AFL games, weather reporters on location, reporters live on location.
It is not on 24/7 and all hit and miss.

Going of topic a tad but there is live footage of people around a yacht (probably get coverage of the Sydney to Hobart race later) on Optus D1 12679 V 7200

Just joined this discussion. I see on http://www.lyngsat.com/optusd1.html that the ABC is on D1 but a scan didin't find it. Are others receiving the ABC? I haven't tried manual tuning at this stage.

No chance. ABC is on the NB beam, which does not cover NZ. You'll only get something on the NZB (and I assume NZA) or NANZ beams.
