Yeah that kind of thing. Needed one to get the tv high enough to see over the clutter infront of it and as they were renting didnt want to wall mount it and have to deal with patching that up when leaving.

I thought the HDR data was just metadata and that if the panel couldn't utilize it, it was just ignored?!?

There is metadata to choose the correct colourspace and also that it is 10 bits per pixel (or 12) not 8. If you were to try to do HDR over 8 bits it would look even more trash than the normal HD or NTSC colorspaces over 8 bit since the steps would be so much larger.

Ok so I'm unsure if the konic is just a rebranded veon or not, I know that Akai also are made in the same factory and share the same UI as veons, but think this is different.

I'm running my invoice at 3840x2160 @60 hz with 0 issues, just plugged into HDMI 2(arc) and selected uhd on my xbox one s.
It looks simply brilliant!

The VEON range is manufactured in China using the same components as leading brands such as Samsung, LG and other large LCD/LED manufacturers.

The warehouse have just advertised this 65" 4K Veon with 8ms response rate for gaming and 3 year warranty.

Oops I forgot to say the 65" 4K Veon is only $899 but the price ends on 17/02/2017, so one day from now. Who knows what the price will be after tomorrow.

I wish that they would put a decent center mount on them rather than one foot at each end requiring a wide TV stand.

That 65" is quite a deal. For my setup, with smarts from an Xbox One S and sound via a receiver, all I need is a display device.

Viewing angle etc is about the only unknown. 3 year warranty is pretty good really, and likely to be reasonably hassle free with a big store chain like the warehouse.

Whys that? I wouldnt ever consider not wall mounting a screen that size if you have pets or kids, they fall easily on the tiny feet - which is also why they are so far apart.
