Interesting/

So in Auckland both with a silver Pace STB

but one has a 17xx and one with a 45xx card.

Can wafflemakerman and satch say if they have always had the same STB and for how how long?

Cheers

And I've had my DS230 Sky box for 6-12 months (replaced an old black box so I could use component out after the Sky upgrade).  I have no idea if my card was replaced at the same time.  I didn't watch the switch over that closely.

No I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy the hardware and software to decode Sky directly by my HTPC.  As I've got a 17XX card, there is no guarantees that it will work.

So...are there any 45XX card holders out there who would be interested in buying the stuff off me at cost + postage if I cannot get it working using my 17XX card?

Another idea, how about people who do get it working possibly get friends to bring over their card if its a different version, and perhaps we can figure out if any work apart from the 4500's.

The story of Satch having a different box would suggest that a new silver Pace owner may well be given a 45xx card, however if you have had a non silver Pace box previously they will keep with your old card.

It would be great if a working system user could test with a 17xx card.

Cheers

eXDee: Regard Mediaportal and MPDAPI =(
http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-talk-45/mdapi-softcam-support-again-12620/

All i can say is laaaame.

However this has a bit about getting it to work with tv server:
http://www.eurocardsharing.com/f102/howto-gbox-mediaportal-rc1-53784

Would it be possible for you to try this out?

I have tried the this guide using my 17xx card with an infinity usb card reader. not working yet. gbox is reporting it is reading something from the card when I am trying to decode so there is still some potential. there are a lot of configuration options so i still have a few things to try.

Someone has told me they have got a 17xx goldcard working with dvbviewer. I dont know him personally but he was very helpful and I have no reason to doubt him. He gave me a beta copy of ndiscam 0.6 to try but I have not tried this yet.

0.0.0.7 supports NZ45XXX cards - so does 6 - I'm currently using 7 - works a treat... still trying to locate a 17XXX card to try - should have something to test in the weekend if someone else hasn't tried it by then...

No progress on this?
Has anyone who has it working have a DVB-S2 card (eg hvr-4000) and is going to get Mysky HDi?

Also about the hvr-4000 - it has an 8 pin svideo in, does this mean it will take one of those splitter cables that breaks into component, composite and 4 pin svideo? Also does this input work in mediaportal?

I was wondering the exact same thing.  I did decide to wait to see if someone successfully got a 17XX card working.  Still waiting... :)
