I'll put the link to github in my release notes then. Won't be doing them for a while yet.

I am on DTT, so can't help with satellite.

I have only done vb.net stuff but I am interested in learning somethIng useful about obj-c and cocoa.

The irony is that often there aren't that many smallish projects the cross over so finding these places for learning and comparing isn't that easy! :)

I may be able to help as I come up to speed, GUI etc...

@tokyovigilante: You should also parse the xml data though "hads" python script to get some extra meta data before putting it into EyeTV?

I just tried it on Mac and the script worked fine.

Looks good, thanks. I'll probably work on putting that in once we're up and running. Sadly the HTPC is tied up now recording the Mrs' shows, so probably won't be before tomorrow.

SJB:

I can imagine this could be popular with Eye TV users in Europe. They may not have acces to FreeSat or OpenTV EPG.

The Freesat EPG was added to Eye TV Sat, Dec 2009, due to “Faye’s”work. You can see this at   http://forums.elgato.com/  enter Faye in the author search.

Do they have MediaHighway 1 and 2?

Just had the first successful run of the plugin using a live EyeTV DVB stream, so am pushing the code to Github. Bit more testing and I'll post a binary as well.

Here's the latest.

http://rapidshare.com/files/452596231/EPG_Collector_for_Mono.zip

I've changed the ini file so that the redundant stuff isn't needed any more. Check out MHEG5 Test.ini.

For other protocols you just need to change MHEG5 to one of

EIT
OPENTV
FREESAT
MEDIAHIGHWAY1
MEDIAHIGHWAY2
PSIP

and supply it with the correct ts dump.

OpenTV needs a Location parameter which can specify one of NZL, AUS, GBR or ITA.

Thanks Steve, I've just pushed the first working version and binary to Github. I'll work on updating to your new version.

It seems I still need the DirectshowLib-2005.dll to run via Mono.

I've just tried running the latest version here without that dll and it worked.

Does IceTV make use of program catgories (eg Movie, Game Show etc)?

Thanks Steve, I'll test again with it missing. About categories, EyeTV does, IceTV I'm not sure about, never used it.

Sorry I meant EyeTV.

Are the categories preset? The reason I ask is that different protocols have different category schemes and I use conversion files (in the Confguration directory) to map the category in the data received to the destination products scheme so I'm looking into whether we need a set of conversions for EyeTV
