I think the only thing us 17XX card holders can do is try and contact Joker, author of NDScam and perhaps try and get him to add support for them.

I'd be keen to do this but I don't really know what I'm asking him to do.  Anyone care to help?  If I knew what to ask for then I'd post a request on the DVBN forums.

I cant find a contact address, he used to leave joker@eurosatboard.com but that site is now just ads, so i assume the email no longer works either. He hasnt been active since last year on DVBN.
This used to be his old site:
http://web.archive.org/web/20070622204037/www.eurosatboard.com/joker/

Interestingly enough all sites point to NDSCam 0.0.0.7 being released may 14th this year, but he still appears to have just disappeared.

0.0.0.7 has been available since mid may. What we are trying to do is contact joker to try and get support for 72XX cards in a future version.

If you do make contact, you'll be coming from the angle of a 17XX gold card right?  Do we know if there are any differences between the 17XX gold and blue cards?

I saw RustyGonad's setup with his 45XX blue card and that's what I want!

Is there any chance of me getting my 17XX card swapped for a 45XX card by Sky?  I'm happy to pay the $30 fee if I knew I was guaranteed a 45XX card.  It was suggested that I call Sky and tell them a child had visited and hidden my current card...

From what I've heard, you'll most likely pay the $30 to get exactly the same type of card as you already had. I think the older generatio zenith/motorola boxes only work with the old 17xx card.

I've got the new Pace DS230 box.  Talking to RustyGonad he was surprised that I had that box with a 17XX card.

If I was to get a new card, would it be mailed to me or would a tech need to come out and deliver/set it up?  If a tech was coming out, I wonder if it would be possible to request a 45XX card?

I mainly wanted to contact him to simply ask if he would consider adding support, and then take it from there. Bartender said he'd require someone to provide logs and make use of something like a season3 (which Bartender said he'd lend out if needed).
That is of course if he does reply and say he'll consider adding support.

I too want a 45xx card, anyone know of someone that works at sky that can tell us whats up with these?

Don't know if anyone is still watching this forum but I have purchased a digiatal everywhere floppyDTV S2 interal Tuner and a T-Rek cam and have tried and tried to get sky working on it with no luck. This guy has got it working with a similar setup but using a external tuner http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=84&TopicId=21389.

If anyone in Christchurch wants to give it a go send me a message.

I have only tried a sky gold card.
I couldn't even get freeview to work.

Cheers
Mawhatt
