My name is Leigh i'm relatively new to the fourms. I had an issue with my internet awhile back and found you guys to be really helpful in solving my problem which is what brings me to this.
Recently i decided i wanted to start studying something in the IT industry, looked at some options and various uni's etc and had a look at some of the subjects they offered. What i find the most interesing is computer practices like networking and operating systems, i don't think i have the interest or mind for something like programming.
I looked into AMES IT and found a cert called comptia a+ that i could study for, it involves stuff i think i'd be most interested in and comes across as a small start to help me figure out if whats involved is right for me. The question i have is, do you guys think this is the right way about getting into the industry? Getting the cert and then finding a job/furthering my study or trying to find a computer business that would just hire me and train me up themselves in a work environment. Is going this route common and something that i should be doing instead?
Cheers
