Recently the main board on my Lenovo T61p died, just as my last exam finished thank goodness. I've been looking around for a replacement and had basically settled on the Lenovo X1 Carbon until I found out they were releasing a touch version soon.

Was looking at the non touch version a while ago, looked tempting back then and now this looks that little more. I hope it comes with a matte screen as found on some of the new Samsung ultrabooks.

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Touch is now available to order in NZ since 22nd December. I have one on order now. Delivery is scheduled for 17th January 2013. Lenovo has a shortage on components atm for this model. US orders are being shipped from today for folks who pre-ordered it first. Looking forward to mine

Use to like the old think pads until IBM sold up to Lenovo. After dealing with over a 1000 odd of these machines through work I wouldn't recommend Lenovo to anyone.

Flaky, bugs and random issues. Booting problems, OS freezing and more.

Overall in a "commercial" environment HP keeps on ticking.

Engadget has released their review today for the Touch model. Still the best Windows ultrabook available in the market.

I've just ordered one now, could be up to 19 days before delivery. I'll let you know what it's like when I have it in my hot little hands.

Mine has been delayed until 20th January now before it will be shipped. Short on LCD panels. At least the review is really good. few folks have received theirs in US and are complaining of no response what so ever from the touch screen. Few are saying that theirs is working fine without any issues.

Spoke with Lenovo who said that you can cancel the order anytime before delivery and are entitled for a full refund even after delivery as long as you lodge a request before 14 days are over after delivery in case you are not happy with the product.
