Hi,

A friend of mine has recently moved to KatiKati and her 8 year old laptop has now died.
Ordinarily I would point her to PBTech in Manukau but that's now too far away.

Is their a comparable or better place in Tauranga that I could recommend to my friend.
PS she is not very computer literate.

Millennium Technology on Cameron rd are nothing like pb tech, but are more than competent and use high quality components. Could try them.

If its just another laptop she wants, there's always the option of a big box retailer.

I use vendors like PB myself, but only when I want something more or less built to order. If it's just a laptop, which is pretty much an off-the-shelf commodity these days, I tend to pick the basic spec I want (processor, graphics and hard drive) and buy pretty much on brand (won't touch HP any more) and price.

just use teamviewer to support? Usually not so much to worry about on the hardware side with laptops.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Turns out there is a "computer guy" in Katikati, but he only fixes and supports, does not sell.
So she could buy from just about anyone in Tauranga.
I'll send her some recommended specs and she can shop around.
