Have you replaced your Surface Pro power cable yet?

I have the oriignal SP which I bought from the US. I went to the Microsoft site and requested a new cable. I had to enter my SP serial # and temporarily changed my Microsoft account country from the US to NZ and it all went through fine. The replacement cable arrived in a few days.

Nice thing is now apart from the potential safety issues, I now have a power cable with a NZ plug at the end, not a US one.

Yup mine arrived the other day. Really fast shipping considering they probably are dealing with a tonne of requests right now.

It's not the same quality as the Microsoft one but I don't know what brand it is. The part that plugs into the power adapter is a bit cheaper looking and the actual cable is not as thick.

Aesthetically i'm disappointed, as written in that article, it's a non-specific/generic replacement for something I actually thought looked quite unique and attractive... but we're talking about a power cord here, so I think i'll live. Rather an ugly cord than a charcoal house
