Any suggestions, really the CPU is everything, next maybe 1080p screen, then maybe 16GB ram, possibly GPU.

 

Im tossing up between 15 and 17"

 

Also for the same power how much would a PC cost to build? $1300?

Plugging into Pricespy with that CPU, 1080p + & 16gb ram gives you three options under $2k:

This one looks good to me - I like that it has an M.2 Drive, [Edit: with 2,000 MB/S]. It has a Geforce GTX 950M   No Bluray (if you care) and no USB 3.1 though -

Yeah I noted the gigabyte, you are enjoying it?

 

Ive noticed a refurbed model with the previous HQ cpu (same processing powerr) for $1350.

 

Out of the notebooks on that list, I REALLY like the ROG G501, how did they pack what is essentially a G551 into a 2kg  body? $2200 though.
