Hey everyone

Well I kinda have a virus on my computer and just wanting to know how to gid rid of it, it's a trojan can't remember what the name of it is.
I dunno what program is good can anyone recommend any? I'm installing adaware now and my Norton hasnt been able to take it off I tried scanning but with no success that it's come on my Computer that I can get rid of it.

i use kaspersky internet security 7. it seems to remove any trojan i encounter.

Nod32, with free trial, if you don't like you ditch, but it is good and light so I don't see why you won't like it!

The only true virus removal process I trust is a re-install, restoring documents only (and scanning on the way in) from a backup.

The trouble is that you just can't be certain what is left lurking :-(

Oh cool, how do I do that? I don't have Vista as a CD Rom drive so I can't do it how I would on my XP Computer which is a bummer.

. If you really want reliable security on you computer my advice yould be not to go with any of the free virus scanners rather pay and get top notch security. I use a mix of eScan and NOD32, depending which computer I am on.

Oh I didn't know I got a reply hmm, I own a Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop, Windows Vista Basic and have Norton 2009 Internet Security with 2 Gigs I think thats about all the infortmation you need????

If it is spyware or something similar try out Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware. Both these programs are 100% safe and used by millions of people worldwide and yes they are free. They should sort out all your problems.

Some advice (not for removal, sorry): install an antivirus before any other program after you deploy Windows. Update it... Install all Windows Updates and make sure you have at least Windows Defender running.

Now comes the trick part: yourself. You should not be opening files from unknown sources. You should not click ok to install "codecs required to watch this content" from strange sites. You should not let other people use your PC. You should make sure that things are up-to-date...

If this trojan was installed before the AV was installed then it could be hard to remove. If you can identify the trojan there are companies that release removal tools for specific variants - some are so bad you might have to reinstall Windows anyway...

Chances are Malwarebytes anti-malware will get rid of your problem! you can get that here. If not, try super antispyware - here. Theres a lot of malware out now that your traditional antivirus wont remove. I deal with 2-3 viruses/malware a day and these 2 programs have became invaluable, and the best thing is they are free

. Install and update in normal windows then boot into safe mode and do full system scans with both, click here if you dont know how to boot into safe mode.

Can you find the specific name of the trojan? What is its behaviour like? Opening popups, flashing messages, installing unwanted programs etc.

Theres lots of them!!
It's Trojan.dropper

It's opening up very annoying Antivirus windows and some travel website that I never heard of

You can do it one of two ways, do it the manual way as anthonybs suggested (which there is nothing wrong with, just time consuming) or you can do it my way and get rid of it quick and painless, with the added benefit of getting rid of any other malware you have. You can trust my method and the two programs (as dodgy as they may sound, they are great programs, far superior than spybot and the likes) fyi im a computer tech with over 5 years experience with a leading computer company, i deal with these problems day in and day out!
