Hi Guys,

I am looking at purchasing a new Dell 7760 workstation laptop for my CAD work. The laptop is awesome, but expensive, so I am looking at cutting back some options. The dell SSD M.2 options are very expensive. My existing older 7710 laptop has a "Samsung 980 Pro 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2" installed and auth for Win10.

I am thinking to order the 7760 with the cheapest option for SSD and then moving my 980 Pro into the 7760. I would prefer to do a full wipe and re-install of Win10 inside the new laptop. I will download all new drivers for the new laptop from dell.

Will this cause any problems with Windows Auth etc? Any other issues?

How would I do this, considering the new dell will be delivered without Win10 install media etc etc.

Thanks Team!

Brian

Shouldn't be an issue at all as the Windows 10 license is held in the Firmware of the laptop.

If you download the Windows 10 Installation media from here you can make a bootable USB to install it from.
It will automatically detect the Windows 10 license key and install and activate the appropriate version.
