For security reasons I decided to put a PIN on my Tablet. It worked well for a time but now I cannot open the tablet using the PIN.

It just comes up saying "try again in 30 seconds" and will still not accept the PIN to open it. I have tried a reboot and also tried in the safe mode but without success. Google

hasn't helped me much so I am hoping that someone here may be able to suggest a solution.?

Hopefully your important data on the device is backed up or synchronised to cloud storage, as you will likely have to factory reset the device.

Unfortunately I have no backup. I guess there is no way to gain access as this would defeat the purpose. I notice on google that this has happened to quite a few  I will make my next tablet an ipad and avoid Samsung.

Even when you have a PIN set, you can still use the original password to unlock Samsung devices.  And every so often it will as for the password instead, as a security measure.  This means anyone who steals it will get a few days of use before it wants the full password.

Did you setup a google or samsung account on the tablet? - you can do a remote unlock from either on your computer oncelogged in on that.

buying an ipad wouldn't make any difference to a forgotten pin.
