Hi - I'm wanting to buy a slightly bigger external HD - my 60MB is a bit full LOL

I see that you can now get USB 3.0  1TB externals for about $180 on trademe http://www.adata.com.tw/index.php?action=product_specificatio
n&cid=2&piid=125

Maybe a stupid question - my current laptop only has USB2.0 ports  -will the USB 3.0 drive be any faster for backing up videos and images - or would I need to upgrade the laptop's ports as well?

You will not get any speed increase unless you have usb3 ports on your computer as well.
