eracode:
trig42: Seems a bit much for a dropped/squashed computer.

Look at what else you can get for $1500 then decide if it is really worth it.

+ 1. YMMV but for me, an item like this is something I want to be proud of and I couldn't be proud of a bent laptop, apart from any performance/reliability issues later on.

Thanks for your input people....

I think I may have misrepresented the condition of the laptop by highlighting the dent and other certain things.

As far as I can tell - It runs 100% ... I am yet to perform the Apple Disk Check though (which I need to OSX Application Disc for).. That should tell me if there are any damaged sectors or anything...

..I'm not expecting any testing to uncover anything.

Does anyone know of any BSD level tests or checks that can be done from Single User mode?

For some perspective this is what it looks like normally.....

You would be far better off with a new imac 21". You could also buy a decent new pc laptop for $1500.
