Whoops, got totally confused! I thought all the new Atom based tablets had Office. Must only be the 8" ones.

Edit:

I got double confused... Looks like I was right ;)

Full version of Microsoft Office Student version is included in x86 Windows 8.1 tablets/hybrids where the screen size of the device is 10.1" or less.

Asus T100 comes with MS Office bundled due to this along with any other x86 Windows 8.1 machine you might find that has a 10.1" screen or less.

Hmm. Is that for 8.1 only then? Didn't have that on my ASUS.

In any case, tell me when they have Office Modern UI. Or when Skydrive by default opens web apps if local apps aren't installed. This is the major problem with Windows tablets at the moment.

Yeah they announced the free MS Office Student version deal 6 months ago for devices releasing with Windows 8.1 and 10.1" screen or less that we are seeing now from late 2013 and moving forward. Windows RT devices regardless of the screen size will and have as usual got free MS Office. First wave of these 10.1" devices that came with Windows 8 x86 will probe never get the free Office.

MS have confirmed that they are already working on Metro version of Office which as per Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet said that it will release mid next year. OneNote is already there so We can expect similar style UI and UX.
