Andib: Does this happen if you boot using a Linux Live CD? This would rule out if you have any background programs playing with the Core Speed.


Sorry should've said this was on Windows 8.1 Pro.

Have you tried it booting off a Live Cd (or USB) as this should rule out if it is a software issue

Hmm.. All of a sudden, without me doing anything, it seems to be fine again even with AC plugged in so will leave it at that and see what happens. Thanks guys..
