So if my TV has dead pixels, does that mean that wind power could have blown them off the panel?
I'd rather stay away from solar. Burn-in could be a real issue.

That's a bloody worry. Is it possible to get a power switching device (Monster probably make one) that could in effect "packet switch" your power as it comes into the house to stop the wet power getting to the dry devices?

I wouldn't trust Monster. But I'm sure AudioQuest has you covered while also improving the fidelity of your power.

My power doesnt stray.

I'd love to add more to this discussion but I have to go and vacuum all the Aussie coal dust out of the power points... I knew I should've left the jug plugged in.

No, dead pixels are from wet electricity also - they died because they struggled to operate in such wet conditions...because they're trapped in their own little pixel holder, when the electricity floods in to light them up, they essentially have to swim for their lives. After a while, and depending upon their stamina, they eventually tire, and drown. Clearly in this scenario, the wetter electricity in NZ makes them drown more quickly, and in some cases, some pixels cannot survive with ANY wet electricity, so they drown literally as soon as the TV is turned on.

Just thought I would mention this but not so long ago, dirty power was a real problem for PCs, especially sags which would lead to a power spike which has resulted in many a hard drive crash. PCs are very sensitive to differences in power, laptops not so much because they use a different mechanism.

Also off topic... but I was in DSE exchanging a faulty product just out of warranty. I overheard a girl selling an American couple a transformer so their 110V hair drier would work on 240V. I pointed out to the guy I was talking to that if they used it it would overheat or explode (exaggerating) since it was rated 0.25A and they were plugging a 10A load into it.

He thanked me, made sure it wasn't sold to the couple, and did my exchange happily :)

Its orbital speed, circa 24000 miles per day. ISS does not have this issue due t its slow 17000mph. NB, allow for the altitude effect x 0000.15443250, plus the number you last thought of

I've always found WD to sound heaps better than Seagate... especially when they're clicking.
