Also an option, An SSD as a boot disk, and replacing the optical drive with the existing HDD using a $10-20 adapter caddy.

Just an update the wife has been using Windows 10 for a few days now and she likes it alot! Yes the 8GB of ram is overkill she's found alot of Windows 10 apps that help her run her business alot easier. We are still going to buy a compute stick at a later date just as a back up device or for guests to use but we are going to wait a few months. An all around good result, we have breathed new life into an old laptop, the wife's happy and it didnt cost us much so I would like to thank everyone for there help and advice.
