Any suggestions? Note that using USB for audio is not an option as this needs to be fairly good quality.

 

 

being USB has nothing to do with sound quality .
its garbage in , garbage out. Get a GOOD USB mic & quality wont be an issue.

 

Use a $10 USB mic & then ..... :-(
Use a $10 analogue mic or webcam mic and then ......  :-(

I already have a good quality mike that more than does the job...I'd prefer not to change it, if I can.

Thanks, I did but that's a bit out of my budget at the moment. Pity as it looks like a good unit :(
