What is the Lenovo part number for the DVD drive?

It will usually include the part number of the OEM DVD drive, e.g. a Lenovo DS-8A8SH20C is the Liteon DS-8A8SH with a Lenovo face plate and, maybe, a connector for screwing it in.

OK people, many thanks for your time and input ... I now have the correct part number and ID information.

The original unit was part number  5DX0F85919, but now replaced with  5DX0J46488.

Lenovo's price includes delivery, and eBay turns up a few too.

Decision time.

I would also query PB Tech as to their price for spare parts or service as they seemed to be the leading stockist of this particular laptop in the NZ market and they may also be a Lenovo authorised service provider.
