Yeah but thats without delivery costs, and without GST. If you added delivery costs, and GST you would get the same rate as a very competitive NZ retailer. Unless your willing to wait 1-2 months for your package to maybe or maybe not arrive. Take out the gst, you you have the exact price of not being covered by the consumer guarantees act for a under 400 buck purchase.
That's why. Chinese resellers have very slim margins, but the difference you pay is directly in consumer guarantees, delivery, refund, repair, replacement.
And with most of the brands/models, thats quite a big deal. Some of the factories don't have the same QA. Not to mention they all work in USD, so that price will have changed quite a bit.

It's not a simple matter to do this. I am attempting it with another brand of tablet now, but generally if you do attempt it, have a powered hub that can boot a flash disk, a wired mouse, wired keyboard, and a flash disk to two with 4gb or more (one with the appropriate version of windows on it). Perhaps record you windows key before you start, and set the bios input timeout to a longer count, like four (because it seems you need to get into the bios to boot from the flash).
You'll also need the drivers for your device. Probably the easiest way yo do this is to back them up before you start using double driver. There are a few guides around, just be careful because this is not trivial.
