I guess it is 1gb ram, so its a bit older gen. It's not often you heard .3 MP though. I think I had a webcam five years ago that was about that. It was basically very blurry, and kind of annoying for the person on the other end. So that's what I'd expect.
a Chuwi Hi8 tablet US$95. With 2 GB of RAM, 1920 x 1200 IPS screen, and an Atom Z3736F the OS really screams (so much better than the 1GB tabs out there). Seriously, this tab blows the HP Stream 7 out of the water
The Stream8 which works fine on skype has 5MP front/2MP rear and is same processor as Stream7 so it will be nothing more that HP cheaping out spec-wise

Unless your willing to wait 1-2 months for your package to maybe or maybe not arrive. Take out the gst, you you have the exact price of not being covered by the consumer guarantees act for a under 400 buck purchase.

And with most of the brands/models, thats quite a big deal. Some of the factories don't have the same QA. Not to mention they all work in USD, so that price will have changed quite a bit.

Because NZ doesnt have a market of half a billion people. Its really that simple. Small market + high local wage cost = it will cost more than in China
Also, major NZ retailers may be reluctant to import electronics that have a much higher than average failure rate, from a country known to rip off bulk overseas buyers
Ive heard stories of shipments(container loads) of goods having empty boxes + known faulty/dead product + product completely different from what was ordered The rescent example is the container of copper sent to NZ magically being just rocks when it got here Its far safer for NZ retailers to sell just the well known name brands .
But that price does look gold and after adding in a keyboard case, 64gb SD card, Bluetooth speaker and tablet its only $215. >.>

I am attempting it with another brand of tablet now, but generally if you do attempt it, have a powered hub that can boot a flash disk, a wired mouse, wired keyboard, and a flash disk to two with 4gb or more (one with the appropriate version of windows on it). Perhaps record you windows key before you start, and set the bios input timeout to a longer count, like four (because it seems you need to get into the bios to boot from the flash).
You'll also need the drivers for your device. Probably the easiest way yo do this is to back them up before you start using double driver. There are a few guides around, just be careful because this is not trivial.
