@LenovoANZ are pretty responsive and reply at least.  Found a tweet I sent a couple of years ago:

MikeB4: Lenovo is horrible. Their support is one of worse and the reason I dropped them.

I cannot agree with you more Mike (and I don't think our opinions often see eye to eye ;-)).  Their customer service is appalling.  Just read my thread from a couple of years ago when I purchased an Carbon X1 with compatible dock which is not actually compatible due to a flaw in the X1's bios.  The replicated the issue but refused to do anything about it other than provide a workaround which disables a few features.

I will never purchase another Lenovo product again.

So did you buy it from Lenovo NZ?

Yes

Well, finally got hold of someone who can help.   I'm not exactly how, I'd fired off messages through facebook/twitter, their wellington office... one of these seem to have done the trick and i just got an email apologising and ensuring they will get them in stock.

So, not quite there yet, but fingers are crossed.

Great result so far. If you can get through to the right people it helps. These large companies that outsource their cusomter service are a PITA to deal with. I am currently having issues with contacting another big tech company in NZ nd actually getting through to someone in NZ. Their number is just an overseas call centre who refuse to connect me to their NZ staff. Seem that writing snail mail can be the only way to contact upper levels in some companies now, as they are insulated by their call centres..

Good luck with getting this replaced under CGA - seems fairly clear it's not fit for purpose if it's damaged after 3 months.

If you don't have any success, a quick google search shows there seem to be a lot of 3rd party vendors selling them - I can't imagine all of them will refuse to ship to you (and a couple are in Australia). Okay, so they all seem to sell them in packs of 10 (for around $30ish) but at least you'll have plenty of spares :-)

Out of interest, which 3rd party vendor did you see selling these (part code 4XH0L55146) and had them in stock?   There are plenty of vendors selling incompatible caps, but very few selling the correct one for my machine.

Just in case lenovo does not come through , which is a 50/50 call I would think.
