No Apple Care and warranty ran out a month ago.

I had to get an exception code from Apple senior advisors for the repair.

I wonder if that first assessment with the first repair centre (in which they did nothing) was a blessing in disguise so Apple to justify the replacement.

They originally wanted or the system would only allow the replacement of a MBP M4 base to replace my MBP M3 Pro but pushed back and they had to get some special authorisation.

So great result all round.

Awesome! In that case, they probably covered it under CGA. Your AASP experience helped as well

The M3 Pro is definitely not the same as the M4. Enjoy the extra 6GB of unified memory! :P

I’m just a bit annoyed that the first repair centre was convinced that it was a software issue and wanted to charge me for an image.

Apple were kind enough to replace the entire unit with a brand new MBP M4 Pro which is very nice.

trust nobody nowadays, do your own research (which is what you did)

secondly, it ended up better than you expected which is a win, so it offsets all that badness

Yip ended up great for sure.

To be honest, I was fully content to just get a refurb M3 Pro.
