Yes, most (can't gaurantee that the stated specs of the adapter are met in production) laptop adapters are auto switching, even for the unusal power supply in Japan (100V at both 50 & 60 Hz).

If its nice and light - it is auto switching, if its heavy.. its not

yea thats what I thought - just wanted to be super sure.

As for the pricespy, been checking that out for ages, qmb.co.nz will most likely be the one that I buy from, jsut cos their cheap and low of freight charges.
But hopefully pbtech will match the price and I can buy it this weekend - almost $100 less, that will give me coin to buy an additional 1GB chip of ram for it too :D
DDR2 Ram is 240pin right ? bit of confusion as I havnt been able to find a site that actually states the ram that the asus a8jc uses, just that its ddr2.
