Looks like they've updated their previous home phone and broadband package plans and it seems like you can get 500GB including Home Phone from $119/month as well now through the bottom link. Looking good.

Looks like I can go from 120GB data to 150GB, and pay less.

It wasn't long ago that 80GB was the biggest plan and cost $145

Now you can get 500GB for $119.

times they are a-changin...

Notice in the fine print you are charged an extra $10 for not living in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch

That has always been the case, and is a tax I am willing to pay :)

EDIT to clarify - Obviously, I'd love it if I didn't have to pay the extra, and there are alternatives now even in the 'regions', but Telecom has given me faultless service for many years now.

Contract terms don't apply to plans for Broadband - only the Broadband connection itself. So anyone should be able to get the new plans.

Interesting that the capped speed on these new plans is now 128kbs rather than 64kbs. Should make things more bearable if go over your cap..

I was all set to sign up before realising we make a lot of use of free national calling to one nominated number in current Total Home Lite plan, so will stick with it for time being.

Does anyone know if there is still the option to change plans within the calendar month? If this was still possible, it would be theoretically possible to obtain a 1TB data allowance by changing between paid excess usage and reduced speed on the 500GB plan.
Not that many people would have a use for that much data. Maybe Telecom have closed the loophole that sees your cap reset to zero each time you change plans?

I beleive that changed a couple of months ago. Think there was a thread here on it (or maybe on GPforums).

It still resets to zero when you change plans mid month, at least it did for me last month.

I saw the 128kbs capped speed info when starting the online sign up procedure for the new plans, when you choose between capped or uncapped.
