Hi guys, is anyone of you requested this with telecom with regards to the ipHone's voicemail.. on my current iphone (voda) whenever i receieved voicemail, my iphone's phone icon would have red dot on it. indicates that i have new voicemail message rather getting sms message that I have new voicemail.
It was JOHNR from voda helped me on this on my phone.. so just wondering if Telecom can do this as well??

thanks guys!

Bit confused regarding your post, are you currently using a iPhone on Telecom? Or just asking in general if the network supports voicemail notification via SMS?

Either way, If you are only getting a red dot while on Telecom it is possible you are using an old SIM version, go into store and they will replace with a new version to enable the voicemail notification to work correctly. Or if you are asking if you can have a SMS instead of a voicemail notification you can enable Voicemail Viewer by sending a SMS. Text ON to 178.

Why would the end user need a new SIM for a feature of the Voice mail platform?

I see, You can send a SMS with OFF to 178 to disable Voicemail Viewer. That will give you ICON as John mentioned.. If it still does not work call into store or call the contact centre to check voicemail notification is provisioned.

@JohnR: I just assumed the OP had an older iPhone with an older SIM as this was a common issue in the past with the older (possibly V2?) Mini SIM's. You would only get the Red Icon and the voicemail 'button' on the dialler would not dial out to the voicemail box number.

*edit: Typo

Nice, I was wondering how to enable this on XT, JohnR had done it on VF for me too, many moons ago.

Yes - just a bit of background. Voicemail viewer is on by default which is why you don't see the red dot to start with. You can text off to 178 and have it removed easy enough. It will get processed pretty quickly so long as it's not midnight etc. :)
