I tried asking Skinny about this but gave up waiting on the phone (a ploy I bet).

If you purchase $4 on a Monday say for 60 minutes and have used it all up by Thursday, can you purchase another $4 for the rest of the week?

Silly example but really I was thinking of the data addons and if you ran out during the week would you be stuck with ad hoc data rates until the next time your top up cycle arrived?

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

I think you can. My wife was on Loose Lips for months and one week she noticed that she need to text more. Instead of buying a text add on. I first "de-activate" the current Loose Lips plan. She did not loose any left over minutes.

Then, I subscribe to Busy Fingers (more text but less talk time), so $4 was deducted and it added 10 minutes and 750 text instantly. Also, the renewal day automatically changed to seven days from the new plan's activation time.

However, I believe in the FAQ said you should de-activate your add-ons before changing the base plan.

Yes you can buy a new pack anytime you like and a new expiry is set for a week later. It does nothing to any remaining minutes etc from an old pack, they all expire a week from when you bought them. Skinny is very versatile if your usage varies. It is easy to buy a huge wad of data minutes etc if you know you're going to need it.

Also, you mention Add-ons for data.

If you buy an Add-on during the week the cost and quota provided is pro-rated so that it will end with your combo.

So, for example, if you are on Loose Lips and exactly half way through the week buy the Data200 Add-on ($4 for 200MB) then you will be charged $2 and get 100MB.

If you want the full 200MB then you could buy two.  You can buy multiple Add-ons during the week, but only one of each type will renew with your plan.  So if you bought two Data200 and two Talk80 Add-ons then at the end of the week one of each would renew with your Combo.

Cheers

Paul

You can easily add an extra pack at any time, problem is skinny operates on a hard roll-over date.
So if your halfway though your week and add an extra 600MB pack you'll only get 300MB for half the price.
Which can obviously be a pain if your very close to your rollover date and only get stuff all data/min/whatever.

I have to emphasize you only pay for the fraction you are given, but all the roll over management was too much of a headache and I moved to XT.

On XT / 2D any extra packs can be bought at any time and each pack keeps its own expiry date.

The roll over date of the base can be easily changed by cancelling the existing base and then buying a new one with whatever addons you want. Easy when you get your head around the logic of their system

Hi

If you cancel a combo then you still retain the quota purchased for the week. There isn't a cancellation fee.

Cheers
