Here is Part 1.

I called up and ordered service as soon as it was announced (more or less). Due to easter etc the earliest booking I could get was 8/4/13.

This morning this arrived :

It appears that they are out of stock of the more basic model, this one has ADSL/VSDL, Ethernet WAN and 3g. on the LAN side it has 3x3 802.11n and gig ethernet.

Most impressively it has USB connectivity for Webcam/Media/Printer and VOiP support.

I have replaced my old DSL modem with it and it is all working well, here are some screenshots.

Here is the inital login screen

Here is the WiFi setup screen

Has a little UI for connected devices

I plugged a HDD into it to test the Media capabilites

And here is the webui for the Media sharing

Sure you want the pic up that shows what files you have on there, I wouldn't given what's there...

Any chance for some speed test results now so we can compare once installed?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

It has one on the back and one that has a cover on it for a 3g modem, I have just popped a USB pendrive into it and it shows up two drives... I am guessing you could also hang a USB hub off it.

whatis the transfer rate of the USB storage like?

I have found in the past that modems with USB slots don't handle it very well and transferring files to/from the storage takes an absolute age

Sadly the existing ducting to the street is blocked with mud or something :)

Contractors are having to get another sub-contractor over to have a look.

So close, yet so far :-/
