It worked for 6 hours after the install and then stopped. Shows pppoe error indicating unable to reach concentrator. Dsl is up. Helpdesk cant understand difference between dsl connection and pppoenot able to connect. Modem restart has same error. Order is still open in system even though install finished this morning so they are saying install is not finished. Any clues how to resolve? I am stuck on hold for half an hour so far after helpdesk has transferred me to New Connections.
Update: got cut off after waiting for half a hour on hold. Rang back 123. They checked and saw that it has been assigned to the provisioning team to investigate. I have to wait for someone to call me back tomorrow.
Only a few minutes later after my last post and magically the PPPoE connection came up. 2 minutes later my mobile rang and it was someone from Telecom advising that the problem has been resolved. I asked what it was and she said that the port I am connected to had been automatically reverted back to ADSL. It was something that shouldn't be happening. She says it should not happen again - it is something that can happen on the first day of provisioning. The process was a bit messy to get it working again but good on them for sorting it out quickly once I did get through to the right place.
Is your VDSL conenction showing as up but PPPoE not?
It sounded like it was a problem that they were aware of that can happen on the first day after provisioning. My VDSL link never went down (apart from when I reset the modem). I think she meant that somehow the port got changed so that is was no longer associated with PPPoE connection. I would ring 123 and tell them that you have just had VDSL provisioned and it has stopped working and that u know the same thing happened to another customer and it turned out to be due to something automatically assigning the port back to VDSL (a known problem that can affect customers who have jsut had VDSL installed). The provisioning team were the ones that resolved my problem. Good luck!
