mattwnz: Makes you wonder why they didn't send a letter announcing this change. Instead I had a message left by them, from someone with a foriegn accent, and it may have been a scam for I knew.

A few people have mentioned that. At least you got a phonecall. All I got was an email with some links in it http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=138606&page_no=11#1000349 Leading you to this page.. http://www.telecom.co.nz/helpandsupport/helpandsupport/xtraemailsettings/ with a blurb that could have been better placed as part of the email.
I've also seen a variant more legitimate looking email which as you point out is sent out after a failure of a call.
However with the calling, surely there will be a lot of people mistaking it for the fixyourcomputer scam after the publicity its had..
Ragnor: About time they got rid of smtp servers on their network that didn't require authentication and ssl.
That is what they are doing isn't it?
